I'm feeling much better now. Sorry that I've been out of it for the past few months. Now I play catch up to the millions of messages game.
Oh, and a question: does anyone know of a good pen/outline tutorial for photoshop? I have no idea how artists get such smooth outlines. I suck so bad. Even with a tablet, my lines are so wobbly that they look like a six-year-old's fridge drawing.
Peace love and happiness.
Devious Comments
1) I open a file that is 1200x1500 with 700dpi for resolution
2) I sketch something using a 5pt size brush
3) I change the color of the sketch to a very light green, extra saturated. (easier to see lineart)
4) I make a lineart layer above this sketch layer.
5) I change the brush size to 2pt cuz I like my lines super thin, then I begin the work.
Useful tip: Make quick strokes when doing lineart. If you spend too much time dragging the tablet pen across the work space, they'll become jagged. The same problem can also occur if you try to outline something at regular size, so try zooming in wen outlining. ^^ So, the most important parts in my opinion is having a high resolution file, zooming in, and making quick strokes.
Hope this helps!

It helps to mess with the minimum diameter of your brush (35% is my favorite for inking) so you don't have to worry so much about pressure and you can focus on getting a clean line. Though, I find that I almost always have to go back with the eraser and prune things.
If you have a HUGE SWEEPING CURVE to draw it might be easier just to use the pen tool.
Good luck with your interweb of fail, though.

It's nice to know that hand drawn art is still useful for digital work.

...minimum diameter of my brush...pressure? Gotcha. *goes to look up exactly how to play with those parameters*

I understood all that perfectly! My computer tends to be very slow, but I'm sure if I bust the image into pieces, I can work at 700 dpi in color.
Thank you again, you're wonderful
